I met him several years ago at a basketball camp in Raleigh and got his autograph. That dunk will forever live on.

I distinctly remember the play. I was so horrified. I kept hoping that the officials would find NC State had done something wrong or illegal. But no, the play was ruled legitimate. The Cougars were a better team and should have won the championship that night but it wasn't meant to be. Alas, memories can last a long time and hopefully the memory of Lorenzo Charles will not fade. Even though I was a rabid UH fan back then I will always remember that play, and Charles.

Guy Lewis went to that 4 corner prevent offense which is what really did Phi Slamma Jamma in.
Charles made a heads up play though...
