Lebron has a chance to become #1 all time. If he's healthy for 6 more years, he could be 2-4

Hopefully not, but this thread is about Dirk. He will probably finish up at #6 all time.

We shall see, maybe it depends on durability and consistency, those two have a shot, but who cares about them....

Dallas coach Rick Carlisle isn't surprised at what Nowitzki, who is averaging 21.5 points a game, is doing for his team this season.
''He's the great Dirk Nowitzki,'' Carlisle said. ''He's one of the great players in the history of the game.''

''The driving the ball is what's missing a little now,'' he said. ''I do a lot of one or two dribble and then up, but I want to get back to driving some more to the basket and get to the foul line. I don't think I'm in '11 shape, but compared to the last two years I feel a lot better. The right knee is great and I feel better.''
Nowitzki's performance on Monday night gave him 25,629 career points, which moved him past Alex English for 13th place in scoring in NBA history.

I love the Western Conference but I hate the set up. It means one very hard working team will miss the playoffs between Dallas, Memphis, or Phoenix (hell even Minnesota looks good compared to the Eastern Conference).

The ninth seed in the west would be the third best in the east. It'll be even more stacked next year, injuries not barring, when the Pelicans will have matured (Davis is such a monster, my third favorite player in the league now).

I hope Dirk and Monta can get their club into the playoffs but unfortunately that would come at the expense of either Phoenix or Memphis.

Also I hope Portland keeps it's fifth seed, I'd love for the Clippers to be pit against Golden State in the first round and to fall to Golden State, in the first round.

Any opinions on where Dirk may end up? With the way his game has aged, I think he can catch Jordan if he plays 5 more years (he'll be 40 in 5 years). One more year like this year would put him around 29k which is ~3,300 away from Jordan. He would then need to average 10 ppg over the next 4 years.

Lebron and Durant will probably pass him soon after he retires, but still a great accomplishment. He could perhaps live the rest of his life as one of top 10 scorers all time.
