Like I said; NO sympathy from me, not even any empathy.
In fairness, if you haven't watched it the last few years, they've really cleaned it up.

If you ever watched the NBA back in the 90's and before I'm not sure I follow your comment.

I see a lot of people are angry at the players but its the owners who agrees to these past deals that put them into a bind. Its the owners who offered these contracts to players that wasn't worth it. Nobody told toronto they should pay amir johnson 35 mil for 5 yrs or those contracts to charlie villenueva or ben gordon what was they supposed to do turn it down. See its not what u earn its what u negotiate in business.

Also its a new breed of owner nowadays who wants to make money in the old days there were billionaire owners who didn't care if they lost or made money the team was there toy. Not anymore and the players have to adjust to the change.

people also need to realize the players have given up millions already, dropping BRI from 57 to 52 percent. the owners should've accepted it at 52.

I don't feel sorry for any of the NBA players quite honestly.

On average, each of them made just over $100,000 PER WEEK. Now they're all begging for payday loans, which will just lead to more unnecessary crap.

I mean really, what idiot manages to blow away all of that money? If they had spent it wisely, they could all be billionaires right now.

Meanwhile, 25 million fiscally responsible people, the ones who work paycheck-to-paycheck, are sitting at home trying to find a job that's not even there for them so they can continue to live paycheck-to-paycheck again.

I also do feel sorry for their children who will be impacted (they didn't ask to be put in the situation) and the arena workers who will now be out of work.

All of thee jocks are grossly overpaid. I'll be glad if/when this sports-industrial complex collapses.

That doesn't answer the question ... Why should they get any of the related profit, they agreed to play for x amount that's it.

I am sorry to hear they settled, the only ones I feel for of the people that depend on the fan base for their jobs.

Because after the 1998 season lockout the owners insisted that this was how the players be paid(after a lengthy work stoppage). Before the players and owners signed a contract for a fixed wage and that was it. Presumably the owners insisted on this because they could make more money this way.
Are you an NBA fan, if not why are posting here? This is the basketball forum, and its implied people who are posting here have some interest in basketball, not just to rail against athletes making alot of money. Why don't you try the politics forum or the great debates forum.

You are paying wayyyy too much attention to a few individuals.

Even Lebron, Wade, Bosh took less money to play together and this years MVP is anything but me me me.

I guess if you want to look 1/2 empty vs. 1/2 full you can see it in any era.
