Are you an NBA fan, if not why are posting here? This is the basketball forum, and its implied people who are posting here have some interest in basketball, not just to rail against athletes making alot of money. Why don't you try the politics forum or the great debates forum.
Many people have some portion of their salary tied to a bonus in order for a company to weather the ups and downs of various cycles or just bad luck.

The revenue sharing in the NBA works the same way....and very importantly aligns the players interests with the leagues.

The use of variable incentives like bonuses works the same way that a revenue sharing works.

In one of the threads around here I wondered just how much heat Hunter might get from the players for basically stalling and stalling and then negotiating pretty much the same deal.

NBA players pushing for Billy Hunter's ouster as union chief - Chris Mannix - SI.com

Pretty shocked to see that he kept collecting his 2million salary while the players weren't being paid. Ouch. The players union did a HORRIBLE job of correctly identifying thier barganing position....then flailed about and accomplished nothing but cost everyone money and aggravate fans.

I guess if you want to look 1/2 empty vs. 1/2 full you can see it in any era.

I don't really appreciate your drugs comment but since the 2011 MVP is spelled Derrick Rose and not Lebron I'm just going to chalk up your entire post to Downs Syndrome.

Hmm Downs ?? I am hurt Still doesn't change the fact Lebron is ME ME ME which has nothing to do with a MVP award.

I don't know how you can possibly say Larry Bird was a ME ME ME player. You need to lay off the drugs.
