this pretty much cements it that there will be no season.

i wonder if stern tries to go with replacement players? dont know if he can do that or not.

I'm not going to be mad if there's no season. I'm siding with the owners on this one. Gilbert Arenas' always hurt, over-rated, over-paid arse is enough to make me against the players. I can't blame the owners for not wanting to pay these guys all that money. The NBA should be more like the NFL...no guaranteed money.

I think the players are kidding themselves. They will end up scrambling to make and deal when they have thoroughly p***ed off the ownership and the public and will then have next to no leverage to bargain with. This will be a trainwreck for them.

This isn't the NFL with dudes getting their brains scrambled every week and concussions and the rest of it. They are going to get completely worked over in the court of public opinion.

Whatever. I'm saving money. I probably would have spent a few hundred bucks this month on NBA games. Now I'm just rolling that money into the MLB season.

Really, who care about the NBA anymore? A lot of the teams are losing money last year. A lot of the players make more money in a year than 90% of the people in their life time!...

Glad college basketball is still good

At this point the NBA has become a total turn-off...

Overpaid people who half the time can't even play the game.

If I was having an off day at work like most of these basketball players seem to have I'd be out of a job...

It's just become too expensive to take the kids to a game anymore. $200 bucks for maybe two hours worth of sometimes maybe excitement???

Screw 'em

The owners bargained a horrendous collective bargaining agreement with the players union last time, and they intend to get it right this time even it washes out the season.

There a quite few franchises grasping for air right now and they would rather lose the season than see all their dollar bills fly out the window.

I agree with Stern that a 50-50 split is reasonable------I think maybe the owners can compromise a bit more on the D League and luxury tax.

The players have gotten a bit carried away with their notoriety----the agents have also been a huge negative factor here----nothing like self serving agents carrying a big stick during this ordeal----a hug joke.

What do the players want here-----7 franchises in New York, 5 in LA, and 4 in Chicago???? Let them lose the season----I think the public reaction has reached the who cares state.

The players just want more and more, while certain owners can't even pay the bills, let alone put out a competitive team. How do the players rebut the fact that teams are absurdly in the red? "They're lying." And the players fighting for more money are the ones who already have vast riches; the 25% of the players in the league who hold minimum or barely above the minimum contract are going to have to find another way to feed their families while Lebron sits on a beach drinking Grey Goose and living it up during his time off.
