That said, I've read on some other message boards that the Mavs are looking to move Shawn Marion and a couple of others to free up cap space. So maybe I shouldn't be surprised if it happens.
Cuban is wanting to keep the Mavs relevent in the coming years, I'm sure.

Just thinkin...
I don't think that DH is interested in playing in Dallas........

Dallas was on his list. Though they don't have anything to really offer up for him. DeVos (Orlando owner) has already told Smith not to trade him. We will see what March brings in the Howard trade rumors.

Dallas is possible because Cuban is capable of anything, but this team is great in the 4th quarter. I like their chances in the west now that Dirk is back playing well. They can beat OKC and did about 7 months ago.

Any given game is meaningless, but I agree that the playoffs are a ways off and it's how you are playing at the END of the season that matters most.

These three teams in the East all stink and I dare anyone to challenge me about it

The Pacers...lost to Cavs

The Celtics.....lost to Pistons

The Hawks.....will lose to Suns

Right now the top 5 in the East from this point on will be the

Heat
Bulls
Magic
Sixers
Knicks

The Spurs are quietly sneaking up on teams. They're much deeper this year along with the emergence of Green and Splitter. I'm impressed.

I had a chance to see the Spurs play in Philly last week and Parker is playing out of his mind

I think you are still putting too much weight on single games.

AND

Not taking into account teams strength of schedule.

Pacers - Have played 18 road games and are only 2.5 games behind the 76ers whom have played 12 road games

Boston - 9 road games, they are going to fall apart when their schedule toughens up.

Hawks - more road than home, the opposite of Orlando whom will cool off when they have to go on the road.

I don't put the Knicks up with the Pacers at all. The Knicks have been beating mostly bad teams with their only 2 quality wins being against westcoast teams that had to travel to NY and even then UT and LA aren't *scary*.

I think you need to look more deeply at the trends and patters and less at one-off wins or losses.

The west looks to be a bit wide-open too with Dallas struggling at times and OKC is still a *young* team.

The playoffs in the west should be VERY interesting this year....the east not so much as the Heat and Bulls grind their way through to each other unless for some wierd injury streak etc. they wind up in the same bracket.
