Yeah, the east dominated in the 90's and the West dominated the 00's. Each with a 7-3 finals record. So far in the 10's the west is up 2-0 but I think that will level out here over the next 5 years.

Before Shaq left Orlando the east had 5 very tough teams. His movement from east to west was pretty critical IMO to distrubing the balance of power.

The east has been getting a large migration of talent from the west in recent years and not to mention draft picks like Lebron and Howard and Rose....the cycle continues.

Yeah it appears as of now the only good teams in the East are

Bulls
Heat
Magic

Sixers are in a category of their own and deserve to be at a solid number 4 since they always beat the bad teams but can't beat the teams above

The Pacers appeared to be frauds since they lost 2 straight games to the Knicks

The Hawks are frauds since they can't maintain consistency

The Celtics are inconsistent

The Knicks are inconsistent

Not as of now but will always beat the teams under .500 like they will do tonight against the Bobcats.

They have already sent a clear message to fans in philly which is

"We can beat the bad teams and compete with the good teams"

At this point I'm getting REALLY interested about the western conference because so few games separate the teams out there and so there is potentially a lot of movement yet in terms of seeds and so forth.

Oh ok, not as of now. But if the Sixers beat them next game, then they'll be better again.

Up until the first matchup between the Bulls and Sixers this season, the Sixers had the Bulls number so with the Bulls finally doing something they had not done in a while, I have to say that the Bulls look to be the better team.

1. Beating Sixers in Philly
2. Beating the Sixers period.
