The Lakers are NOT trading Bynum... He gives you the same thing Howard does and has more of an upside if he's healthy. That's a big if, but they don't need Howard and they wont make a play for him.

The Lakers only concern is who will replace Kobe... I know its a long shot but if a superstar doesnt emerge out of the draft for them I see them going after Durant when his contract up...

Could be wrong, but I don't see Durant in LA. The Thunder are building a great young team there who can contend for the next 7-8 seasons, and Durant is making Basketball relevant in OKC. I don't claim to know him, but he doesn't strike me as someone who is going to jump ship.

I agree with that assessment...

I'm just wishful thinking and HOPING the Lakers GM is way smarter than I think and has a master plan after letting Odom go for absolutely nothing basically.

And don't forget....defense doesn't matter.

The way I see it Bynum has a few issues to overcome before I can consider him a top10 type player.

1. Health - this one is obvious.
2. He's never even remotely had to carry a team. Kobe and Gasol take a lot of heat off of guys so he isn't seeing the 2-3 man swarms he'd get if he were on other teams.
3. Historically he's been erratic and except for the Portland game last night he has started off strong against weak team. He did well vs. Portland but then again he's facing off against a wayyyy past prime Camby who has to help against Kobe and Gasol too.

With that said, he is playing pretty well and if he can keep it up I think he could make his first all-nba team selection this year....behind Dwight Howard.

Yadda Yadda Yadda...

Like I said...

They still don't need Howard because they have Bynum... and they will not make a play for Howard because they have Bynum.

When I'm wrong then you can talk... until then

I don't think it will happen either because other teams will have more to offer for Howard.

But hey, you said Bynum was as good as Howard so I will go set the oven to 350 and get your crow pie baking.

LOL....more of an upside when healthy too. Oh, that's rich.
