We aren't going to just GIVE our all star starter and franchise player away. There are going to be significant players coming our way. And a lot of Love jerseys burned as well. Truly a SHAME there seems to be very little loyalty from these spoiled rich athletes anymore. Makes me sick. Really almost makes me want to turn away from these sports' at times entirely.

At least there is parity in the NHL. At least we can count on that.

I wouldn't blame Love if he did leave. If the organization wants to swim with the likes of the Bullets over in D.C., that's what they deserve.

But, it seems that Adelman is busy flushing the remnants of the triangle and Kurt Rambis from those tortured players and things are progressing nicely. I can see a playoff run in them.

Now, for the love of God, the bozos on the Twolves forums need to stop thinking they are going to get anything for Wes Johnson. We all have Intrawebz and NBA TV...we know he isn't good enough to get anything of value from what he has shown so far...

Anyway, Love gets his....he shouldn't be a trade item.

FWIW the Timberwolves have not offered Love an extension. You can blame spoiled athletes etc. all you want but the ball has been out of his court.

I guess they must be up to something and want to make some moves before offering Love max and so forth...but at some point they have to start irritating Love?

So the link posted before was phony? And you are aware that the Wolves signed the biggest contract in history in '97 when they tossed Garnett $200M. That was blockbuster at the time by far, so Glen Taylor has shown a willingness to make the big signs.

Have they offered Love an extension? Yes or no.

I thought the link said they offered him the largest offer possible by NBA standards, but he wasn't sure if he was going to stay. Something along those lines....

The problem is, in the NBA especially, MN is not a glamour spot. I bet there would be a whole lot more loyalty for a player to stay in Boston, LA, NY, and now even Miami. No one clamors to stay in DC, Charlotte, Toronto (Will the Raptors ever put another decent team on the floor again?), etc.

I know winning has a lot to do with that, but it does seem that no one right now wants to hold on for a second and stay with a non-marquee team. I'd like to see Love stay in MN and see what they build.

Which is why I dislike the NBA more than any other league. There is so much elitism it's sickening. All the elite players wanna consolidate all the big names in certain spots I hate it. I don't know the specifics of the last contract but it doesn't seem like Stern did anything to stem this stuff. It really just turns fans off, honestly.

If we are going to lose one of our major four, might as well be the Wolves since it's a complete joke the way the league is structured.

Nope, those are opinion blogs and rumors.

He has not been offered an extension yet. It's really that simple.

Then how can you make this claim if you don't know the specifics?

They actually did introduce some more measures to introduce parity around the league. The CBA can be found on wikipedia and they outline things.

It's really not the leagues fault that the T-wolves are arguably one of the bottom 4-5 run franchises in the league. (McHale....sigh) It's like the Vikings only with a round ball instead.
