Really, I was a bit shocked when I looked at thier so far (soft) schedule this year.

Los Angeles Lakers 2012 Schedule - Lakers Home and Away - ESPN

They have Dallas (home) then Miami and Orlando on the road and I'm thinking 1-2 is a distinct possiblity?

When Laker fans were complaining about how they had to play too many games compared to other teams during the first few weeks, i decided to look at their schedule. While it was true, that they had more games than most, they have 10 of their first 15 games at home....not much too complain about there.

Who aren't exactly playing at last year's level. Let's see them against the Heat and Thunder, Spurs etc shall we? They already lost to the Bulls on their homecourt.

By definition though, 2nd round calibre team means top 8 in the league.

It was a bizarre, sloppy game.

Really, my whole premise to this thread stems from past years, heck look at last year for example...the Bulls and Heat started *rough* and ended up CLEARLY the best 2 teams in the east.

Other teams slid after a decent start, and not just due to injuries....while others (the Lakers) looked ok and then imploded in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

ehhhh, while the mavs in name are the defending champs, they are no where near the same team. they have a similar core in dirk, marion, kidd but IMO they are NOT the same team that won a ring. i would be surprised if they make it out of the 1st round this year.

You might be right, we will see how they gel with the line-up changes etc.

Again, remember the Heat and Bulls through the first 20 or so games last year.

yes but the heat and bulls all but revamped entirely with youth. a bunch of young guys vs a bunch of vets, who is going to "gel" quicker? the mavs also didnt get younger but older with VC and odom and they lost the bulk of what made their zone defense so good, a center that can hold down the paint on his own.

Please. We gift wrapped that game to them. And that was without our starting center!

The Bulls don't intimidate me like the Heat and Thunder do.
