I wouldnt be surprised if they waived Baron Davis....
davis isnt going anywhere, if they where going to waive him they would have waived him instead of balkman to sign smith. they OBVIOUSLY are waiting to see how baron plays when he gets back from his surgery any game now.

its lins team in the media, carmelo will "be the man" on the team just like he was hired to be when he gets back, lin will get less shots and will be on the bench in time.

why dont you enlighten me then. please with all your cubanesk knowledge enlighten me on what the knicks are thinking.

or better yet maybe you should go read up a little bit more on baron davis and the knicks apparent plans for him. mike dantoni said just this past week that davis is close and while lin will be the starter for the near future they expect to have a 1-2 punch at PG and who knows how things will go with lin/davis.

davis isnt getting waived period.

Baron is not getting waived is a good thing for the Knicks. They need another point guard. I just hoping when Baron and Anthony returned, they don't mess up the chemistry that the Knicks currently have.

Lin with a HUGE game against Dallas today. Sorry. I don't see lin getting pushed off the starting line-up. No. Freaking. Way.

Agreed. Arguably they could play them together.

However, let's have no illusions. Lin has played enough games now to make Davis redundant. Lin isn't going to be sitting for Davis, however, Davis may still be on the court.

Let's see if Davis can get on the court first. He is one of the more injury proned players in the league. He is on a slippery slope. I can honestly see him getting waived if he doesn't get healthy soon. There is no way he's starting unless Lin has a colossal drop off.

"We're playing a lot better," D'Antoni said after the game. "Lin is a very smart point guard. He's kind of what I was searching for. He's [played well] and he's continued to do it. It's put everybody back in the role where they feel comfortable and they're producing."

“He plays with great pace and tempo,” said forward Jared Jeffries. “If you look at his last few games, I bet he has been one of, if not, the best point guard in the league.
”He gives us a lot of energy and we feed off of that.“

”Jeremy puts everyone in the right spots and calms us down,“ said Knicks coachMike D'Antoni. ”He's making things easy and the rest of the guys around him are playing the way we want to play. He controls it.“

“You just watch and you’re in awe,” D’Antoni said. “He held it until five tenths of a second left. He was pretty confident that was going in, no rebounds, no nothing. That ball was being buried.”

“It’s been unbelievable,” center Tyson Chandler said. “He’s really changed the mindset and mentality of this team.”

General Manager Glen Grunwald:
"Just his ability to meet the challenge," Grunwald said. "You can see him rising to the occasion for one game, but to do it on a consistent basis and really meet the challenge -- that's really been the astounding part of it. Now teams are looking to stop him and he still has been very successful. His competitive spirit and his team leadership and his ability to deal with what is presented to him in a game as a young player is very impressive."

"It just was an opportunity to acquire him when we needed someone that has his skill set and it worked out -- so far, so great," Grunwald said.

Mark Cuban

Lin started his NBA career with the Mavericks' Las Vegas summer league team in 2010, when he was the best guard on a roster that included recent Dallas first-round picks Rodrigue Beaubois and Dominique Jones. Lin's stock rose significantly when he outplayed Washington's John Wall, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, in a summer league game.
