Not a debate right now until Lin plays well in a road game against a winning team and helps the Knicks win the game.
Rubio has already achieved that
Rubio plays with people that run the count. If Love get the pass in the red, he will dunk it.
Lin plays with people standing and expect the ball. Once they got the ball, they just do the jump shots. When Melo and Amare got the ball, they will do the jump shot or lay the ball.
This is not even a debate. Rubio all the way since he has a better handle and controls the offense better and doesn't look to score first but gets others involved. Lin is a PG who is either getting the ball STRIPPED from him or making a bad pass for the other team to steal and score on the other end. Rubio will start be a starter 2 years from now and Lin will be either on the bench or back on the couch.
Rubio per 36minutes: 8.6 assists, 3.6 turovers, 11.2pts, 2.3steals, FG% = 36%
Lin per 36minutes: 8.6 assists, 4.9 turnovers, 20.6pts, 2.3 steals, FG% = 45%
Frankly, they are pretty comparable IMO.
Rubios FG% is as egregious as Lins TO's.
Lin's numbers are not going to stay at 20 PPG because he will now be playing better teams and other players know his weaknesses after seeing lots of game film on him. That was not the case 5 weeks ago so like I said there is nowhere for him to go now but down.
lin is not going to continue to get 15+ shots up per game with king selfish back from injury.
his FG% has steady dropped as well and he is shooting 39% in march and 41% over his last 10 games. he is shooting 31% from 3, and 68% from the line in march also. his turnovers are down 1 in march and so are his assists. his fouls are up to nearly 3 per game average as well.
rubio may not be shooting better but then he takes less shots. near;y half as many but he gets to the line where he shoots the FT much better. he is also a better rebounder, and his assist to turnover is much better. they both foul about the same, and play similar minutes.
i say lins numbers are a product of the semi 7 seconds or less that dantoni still runs. hurry up and get as many shots as possible and win by sheer volume.
i say i rather have rubio under adelmann over lin under dantoni. really i would rather have rubio period but adelmann coaching him for 2-3 years and rubio turns very good. like lowry did.
