I noticed that there will not be any NBA games on TNT this coming thursday because TNT will be airing college basketball all day long? When exactly did this start? I mean I thought CBS aired the tournament during the 1st round like they usually do and then air round 2 on Saturday and Sunday. So how did TNT get involved in this all of sudden? TNT would rather push the NBA to the side to air college basketball? This is sickening.

I believe it was last season. I think CBS, Turner and the NCAA came up with some multiyear deal to keep March Madness on CBS and Turner.

I knew it had to be recent because I definitely didn't remember TNT airing tournament games 5 years ago. Since barkley and kenny are on the CBS pregame shows for college basketball i wonder if they will still be in the TNT studio this thursday night but instead of talking about the NBA they will talk about college basketball? I would not mind that at all

Personally, I hate it. I don't have cable. When CBS had sole rights to the tourney, they made sure that all the Syracuse games were locally broadcast.

Last year, I had to go to a bar to watch Syracuse play. I hate watching games in bars!

Well we live in a society now where everyone is expected to have cable which is why you see changes like this when it comes to the tournament. 20 years ago TNT was considered a cable channel and now in 2012 it's consider a regular channel.

It started last season and it's about time. I really hope ESPN can acquire this contract eventually.

Well if you're willing to shell out Four bucks you can get all 67 games live on your own comp.

March Madness 2012 - NCAA.com

Also ESPN already has too many contracts as it is. They can't show EVERYTHING.

Yeah but that means you lose the internet unless you have another computer because in order to see the games you would have to hook up the computer to the TV because it would not be a good idea to watch basketball games on a computer.

It's not bad. I've watched the March Madness on demand thing on the computer and worked well enough. I watch NCAA division 2, division 3, NAIA, and USCAA games on the computer because none of those leagues get TV coverage and my computer is working fine.
Granted I'm only watching 1 game and opening live stats for any others I want to keep tabs on; you may have problems if you decide to watch more than a couple.
