Greg Oden done for the year.
Greg Oden will be getting microfracture surgery and is done for the year.
Horrible news for him, the Blazers, and the league.
Personally I was really looking forward to seeing this guy play. This sucks big time.

Yea i heard about that. i was looking forward to him playing too. I was watching SportsCenter today and apparently Amare Stoudemire and Jason Kidd had it done and they had fine careers. im sure he will bounce back.

That's really too bad. I was hoping he would be a huge success and give the people of Portland something to be pruod about again when it comes to the NBA.
Here's hoping for a full and speedy recovery.

Penny Hardaway and Allan Houston didn't. All the warning signs were there when it came to Oden. Hope things work out for him.

I feel so bad for Greg Oden.
When he played his first game against us (Wisco) last year, it was amazing. This was when he was playing with his broken right hand, and yeah, we all made fun of him because he looked twice his age. But he was such a good player! We stopped him from dominating during our games against OSU, but he couldn't be stopped during the rest of the year, no less playing with his left hand all year!
He just seems like a real good kid also. He's extremely polite, contrite, he's not arrogant at all, and he's extremely bright...I heard he had something like a 3.7 GPA in high school and aspires to be a doctor after his career (aka Robert Smith). Apparently he couldn't stop apologizing after coming out of surgery, and now, all those fans will probably be pissed off at him until he comes back...I really feel bad for him.
...And now with the fans comparing him to Sam Bowie...ugh, couldn't feel any worse for the kid!

All I have to say is it's a good thing (for him) that he went to the NBA early...

This was just terrible news. I feel so bad for Greg Oden. He seems like such a good person. I hope that he heals this year and bounces back to have a great rookie year.
