Sad to see this, a class act and Pat had a amazing feat, never had a losing season at Tennessee, I will miss watching her coach, I hope she enjoy her life and retirement after being diagnosed with early onset dementia

All her players who completed their eligibility graduated as well...

Big salute to Pat!

I couldn't agree more, and it's a sad day, and I'm a UConn fan. If anyone could fight this and work, I figured she would be the one. I am happy to see she will still have a role with the team, albeit not as the coach.

I hadn't heard that. Haven't watched the news. So sad, wish her best. She is going to be so missed.

She will go into the HOF. God, I wouldn't wish dementia on my worst enemy.

She's already in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

It's sad to see Pat Summitt forced to retire. Even though I don't really follow women's college basketball, I know she's one of the real coaching giants of the sport, male or female. She did so much to grow the sport of women's college basketball.

Hopefully she'll be able to enjoy many more years in her lifetime, even if she can no longer coach.

I couldn't agree more.

She is one of the greatest coaches in collegiate basketball history. That includes both men and women.

I sincerely wish her the best.

I'll never forget the interview of Baylor's coach after Summitt's last game. It was obvious she was struggling not to tear up, and had I not watched the game, I would have assumed listening to her, Baylor had lost.

Pat passed away today or last night.
She is now in a better place.
