Only seven games for Artest's vicious assualt on OKC's Harden? Talk about light punishment for a very serious offense. I am shocked that he wasn't banned for life from the NBA. Just goes to show that when you play for one of the league's and network's darling teams you can punch people with impunity.

I think its fine... They gave him more than they would give a 1st time offender for a punch, so obviously they punished him more. They seemed to take their time and were diligent in the decision.

I'm not surprised really. I would not classify the elbow as "vicious" though. I mean did it suck? Yup but was he looking to hurt someone or was he just swinging in the heat of the moment in his head?

You wonder why average guy hates the NBA? David Stern that's why. 7 games he should be gone for the rest of the year and the first 5 games of next year. I love the NBA but how many time shall it shoot itself in the foot. It's like having a best friend who keeps doing stupid stuff and embarrassing you but there's nothing you can do since he is your best friend but keep telling him why people hate him. Start calling traveling, ignore the acting and fake flops, do something about the steven jackson's of the NBA constantly crying about fouls. Imagine every baseball batter whining about every strike out he gets. Move the shot clock to 30 seconds and stop calling so many ticky tack fouls especially on the lebrons of the NBA.

7 games is not acceptable. There have been people suspended for 15 games for punching people in the heat of a brawl. You are giving this guy less than half for something that was unprovoked, caused injury and could have seriously hurt Harden.

Stern was in a good mood i bet or was it a plan to build up drama and ratings when/if the Thunder and Lakers meet in the 2nd round? It could be the highest viewed 2nd round matchup in history.....lol

I honestly don't know what to think here. Oh well.

Probably didn't want to tank the Lakers (thin) chances at another title with a suspension.

Oh well.

Artest's a douche. It'll be fun watching him ruin his life and fall to pieces very quickly when his career is over.
