More of a Yankees/RedSox rivalry, circa 20th century.

Well, the Knicks have gone fishing for the summer, not much of a stumbling block for Miami as most here predicted.

Just a random, worthless piece of info that popped into my head as I was watching last night's game..... 4 of the top 5 picks from the heralded 2003 draft played in this series:

Lebron(#1), Melo(#3), Bosh (#4) and Wade(#5). The #2 pick that year? Why, Darko Milicic of course.....

I think (okay, really just hoping ) that the Pacers will give them more of a battle, but still, I will be surprised if either this series or the ECF goes more than 5 or 6 games for Miami.

Pacers do have a strong advantage in the post though with Hibbert, and West is about as good as Bosh IMO. Obviously, Danny Granger is the key though to the Pacers chances of pulling the major upset, if he plays great, they have a shot. Would love to see it and I will be pulling for them, but my mind says there is just no way they beat them.

The Pacers are much better than the Knicks, but will still have to bring their A+ game to get past the Heat.

What are your thoughts?
My thoughts:

1. Lebron not only didn't choke....he beat NY like a rented mule.
2. The Knicks won their first playoff game since 9-11.
3. It's not a rivalry.
4. Carmello came up big at times in that series. <tips hat>

If we're doing the grade thing, I think the Heat can get through the East with pretty much their B- game lol. That, for me, translates to 2 out of the big 3 playing well, and decent contributions from guys like Chalmers, Haslem, Miller, etc. They're going to need their A+ against whoever comes out of the West, though.....

Agreed.,..as much flack (justifiably) as Melo gets, I thought he played a good series overall, particularly the last 2 games.

Yeah, there's definitely no rivalry there. You have to have two teams duking it out to form a rivalry. Knicks were just lucky to avoid the sweep LOL.

It was hard to watch Melo have to do it all by himself. He could probably pass the ball more, but tho who? J.R. Smith who shot 20% (3-15)? Amare Stoudamire who had half a hand (though he did shoot well when given the opportunity)? I know the Knicks have bult themself somewhat of a "big 3," but their talent level is nowhere near that of Miami's Big 3.

And I'll always kinda hold it against Wade, Bron, and Bosh for conspiring to put together their own team. "Collusion" is usually a crime. Collusion: when rival companies cooperate for their mutual benefit. If that isn't the definition of what Wade, Bosh, and James did, I don't know what is. 3 of the biggest names in the eastern conference met behind closed doors, and decided they should all "take less money and play together instead of against each other" and all signed in Miami.

Is that not unfair to other teams? Bron, Wade, and Bosh literally built their own dream team...
