I must say that with Rose out the playoffs got a lot more boring for me, at least in the east.

That was the only serious threat to the Heat and the Bulls will be back next year breathing down their neck....but it really took the air out of the East for me.

The West will be really exciting in the 2nd rd and then WCF.

Once again I'm not sure if I'm impressed with Dallas or disappointed in okc.

Either way, neither is putting fear in the eyes of the spurs or the lakers for that mater.

Agreed. The west is a good deal more unpredictable and interesting at this point, IMO....but even with Rose still in the playoffs, it was either Miami or Chicago. Out west, you've got the Spurs and OKC but teams like Dallas, LA can't be counted out completely till the final buzzer and hey, stranger things have happened than the Lakers coming out of the West this year.

I have to agree...but as far as OKC goes, I dont think this is going to be a shoo-in for them to represent the West in the NBA Finals. Those long stretches they go without scoring points will eventually catch up with you...

That bulls loss last night was bad. While I don't think the style in which they lost will be the norm, they can't be feeling good after the way things went or for their chances from here. Philly got a ton of momentum out of that win headed back home.

If Chicago doesn't pick things up in a hurry they could find themselves down 3-1 before they know it as the scene shifts to Philly.

I don't think this matteres much to anyone. Without rose it is moot when they actually get eliminated. Let Philly win and make fools of themselves in the press conferences after acting like they beat an actual 1 seed. None of it matters.

The funny thing to me is IF Philly wins, it's going to "but rose was out". Last years spirs had an obviously injured Duncan, and Manu playing with a broken arm in his Darth Vader arm brace and it's all about how the spurs suck and Memphis was awesome.

The universe is making it so easy for the Miami Heat, and it's making me sick. I hate Lebron james more than any other team or player on planet earth.

And yet the three teams in the east that posed the biggest threat to Miami have all lost their biggest stars. First, Dwight Howard went down a few weeks before the playoffs with a bad back. On Saturday, Derrick Rose tore his ACL and is done for the season. And just last night, Josh Smith hurt his knee and could be out for the season (MRI today).

So basically, the three teams that could've possibly beat Miami in the east (Bulls, Hawks, maybe Magic) are all without their star players. Basically rolling out the red carpet for Bron and company to just roll through the east and make it to the finals.

I think I'm gonna puke

I don't think either the Hawks or the Magic would have beaten the Heat, even with their main players. Bulls very possibly, Boston.....very long odds but I'd give them an outside chance if they had Ray Allen.

But, as you say, the path certainly seems to be clearing for a back to back finals trip for Miami....
