Lakers and their 4th quarter slump. Just like in Games 2 & 4, except it happened much sooner. Even before Durant nailed the 3-point to make it 88-77. Thunder did the smart thing too after pulling ahead points: defend the basket and drag the shot clock. Both teams sat out all of their starters and played from the bench with 90 seconds left, which said pretty much the game is done. No Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. I am one happy fan.

Where's the elbow, Artest? You got flagrant 1 for something, and it wasn't Sefolosha. So what was it for? Clothesline? Kick to the face? Brawling with the referee? Choking a fan?

this is a pretty telling quote about kobe from kobe and his mentality.

Quote:
"I'm not fading into the shadows. I'm not going anywhere."

-- Kobe Bryant, after his team's Game 5 elimination at the hands of the Thunder.

NOOOOO! heres hoping for a 3rd sweep!

no team has ever swept the 1st 3 rounds (most wins to start the playoffs is 11 in a row) i could handle my spurs setting that record but i have a feeling they lose game 3.

On last nights Lakers game:

1. Artest with his left hand clearly shoved and deserved a flagrant 1. The announcers were all "Oh that's a reputation call his right hand was clearly on the ball blah blah blah". It was extremely bad announcing that no one pointed out the other hand.

2. Can we put all of the blame on Gasol? I mean he had 14-16, his 3rd double double of the 5 games.

3. Kobe had a beastly night. Again, the announcers made a horribly stupid comment about how Lebron's big night might be motivating Kobe. What a stupid, stupid comment as if he needs that to motivate him.

4. The Lakers should take note of the OKC fan fervor. I know they love their stars but sadly so many people in the lower stands are celebs, aspiring actresses and whatnot....many of which have no clue. (No offense to Jack). They should have a section every once in a while down-low that they have a contest to come and get a free ticket too...like a fanatics section. I KNOW the Lakers have passionate fans, they just can't afford those tix.

hows a spurs sweep of the thunder BUTTTTTT all 4 games go to over time and are decided by less then 5 points?

some people around these parts would say those close games mean the teams suck, i say they are competitive!

That's Los Angeles for you. Lifestyles of the rich and famous. Can't even afford a seat at a Laker's game. Ultimately can't afford to live there, so we moved out. AT&T Center is an entirely different matter. It was amusing to see three OKC fans at courtside sporting the Beard!

Before the 2nd round, I was thinking OKC was the team to beat, but I'm not so sure of that anymore. The way that SA completely dismantled L.A. was impressive. Granted, they *are* the Clippers, but this was a talented squad, even if they haven't played together for very long. I was wondering how SA would handle a more physical team, and they had no problem with the big bodies of the Clips. The Thunder are more athletic and they shoot better, but SA is a relentless machine.

I actually thought, and still do think, that physically, a team like L.A. Lakers might be the team that could have given the Spurs their biggest challenge, with their wingspan and power in the low post. But the Spurs would have carved up this year's undisciplined Lakers squad, as the Thunder did. I don't know if any of the remaining teams really have what it takes to slow down the Spurs. Maybe one of the more physical eastern teams could do it, but I doubt they can beat the Spurs four times.

Nope, I say the series go to 7 with the final game decided by a quad-triple overtime thriller!

Whether you're a Lebron hater, Lebron fan, or a Lebron apologist, there was an interesting stat that they showed during game 4 of the Heat/Pacers series that you can't really argue with.

Game 4 marked Lebron's 100th career playoff game. They compared his stats to some of the greats first 100 play off games. Magic, Bird, and Jordan. Lebron's numbers were actually right up there with the three legends, PPG, FG%, etc. But there's one stat that stuck out. In their first 100 playoff games, Magic Johnson had 3 rings, Bird had 2, and Jordan had 2. Lebron, well, you know how many rings he's got.

Yeah, yeah. I know. The LeBron apologists will first talk about what a hater I am, and then will argue that Bron never had a "Scottie Pippen," or that he never had a "James Worthy" or "Kevin McHale." Yet even now with Miami where they Colluded to build their own all-star team, with Bosh down, that's another open door for excuses.

LeBron played a hell of a game on Sunday, and for the first time in a while he stepped up and put his team on his back. He'll need to do that for the rest of this post-season. Because the bottom line is, when you call yourself "The King," sooner or later you need rings. KINGS HAVE RINGS.
