if your team works off of extra passes, spacing and drive/kicks and pick n rolls then running the clock down is the norm. when your team works off of quick passes, and lobs then your office will shut down if you run the clock because you allow the other team to set up a defense. i dont care what your lead is, if your team is NOT a half court team then you HAVE to push and shoot early. not all teams are built for half court sets. thats the bottom line no mater what silly arguments you can try to dig up.

As long as a team is not jacking up a long jumpshot with 17 secs left on the shot clock then that it a good way to maintain a lead. It's never a good thing for someone to shoot as soon as he receives the ball without making another pass.
