True to form, ball-hogging, cro-magnon Westbrook tossed up more shot attempts than anybody in the state of Texas in the loss. I just don't like that guy.

Go Spurs!

A pretty telling couple of stats, spurs had unusually high turnovers. Duncan and Parker both made "rusty" comments.
Durant, Perkins and harden all with 5 fouls. Ibaka played just 21 minutes. No spur with more then 3 fouls. This IMO tells us how over aggressive the thunder where.

So will they be so aggressive in game 2? I think tony and Manu will attack harder in game 2 and the thunder will have to choose, stop the penetration or cover Duncan.

I wouldn't expect the spurs to turn the ball over like this in the future games.

One of the main keys for SA is limiting OKC's transition game. Durant and Westbrook are two greyhounds in the open-court. Problem for them is they're mainly a jumpshooting team with no post offense, if they're off like Westbrook and Harden were they're going to have problems. Spurs are far more versatile in their offensive attack, and when the game is played in the half-court OKC is at a disadvantage, especially when Westbrook goes into hero chuck mode and plays as reckless as he did last night.

It's funny, a lot was made of "locker room material" after tony said some "he hasn't seen anything like me" about Westbrook. All the "exerts" where talking about "don't make Westbrook mad with that talk" well I think so far it had the desired effect. Westbrook is dumb enough to take that to heart and try to "prove" he can handle a guy like Parker. Out play him so to speak. Looks like tony got in his head, at least lady night.

I thought the Thunder made the Spurs look old in the first 3 quarters. The Spurs overcame a bad game.

so Going forward will the Thunder Learn to hold on or will the Spurs play like they did in the 4th from the start?

Two things I took from that:

1) After playing the Jazz and Clippers, Spurs had to adjust themselves to the increased level of competition

2) Spurs had to adjust to the Thunder's speed. Much faster than any team they've faced so far in the playoffs.....

The Spurs exposed the Thunder's lack of interior defense besides Perkins and their reliance on jump shots.

Spurs adjusted in the 4th quarter. Jax did a good job on Durant. I wished Brooks would've played Ibaka in the 4th quarter though giving them a bit more shot blocking down low. Westb was trying to put it all on his shoulders again...the kid needs to learn about not making it a personal 1-on-1 with Parker. He took quite a few bad shots instead of passing it. Harden made some bad decisions too. I think they will play alot better in game 2. Gotta give credit to Manu though, he really stepped it up when everyone else on the Spurs couldn't score.

Yea... Just like an experience team too. I think the majority of teams would not have been able to recover like that in the fourth. They are tough.
