Some people say Manu Ginobili should be blamed for the current practice of flopping. But shouldn't Dennis Rodman take much of the blame as well? He was extra dramatic. Anybody remember his run ins with Frank Brickowski during the '96 finals?

Flopping would come to an end if (1) more refs hit players with Ts for doing it and (2) they got rid of that stupid semi-circle.

Flopping has always been there, people just talk about it more now because they hate Lebron etc... Celtics matter of fact are no joke either when it comes to flopping, Rondo leading them. But the best was Bass in game 6, getting fouled hand against hand and falling down holding his face pretending he was hit on the head. Can you imagine if that would have been Lebron or Wade?? Everybody would have talked about that for weeks. But it was one of the good guys, so it passed under the radar...

yes. what is the point of that.. its stupid. stops the flow of the game.
i hate it. either get rid of that half circle or start playing on cement. bet you wont have cowards like shane battier or derek fisher flopping as much trying to get charges.
charges = coward move. go up and try to block the shot dammit

Cowardly to draw a charge? Perhaps taking a knee to the family jewels while landing on your back? Besides, how would 6'1" Fisher block someone's shot at the rim?

The game has evolved to where players drive to the bucket constantly. You cannot play adequate defense anymore if you only go for shot blocks, predicting where the drivers are going, is the best way to consistently defend nowadays.

We've just got to accept it and should really admire it. Besides, offensive players frequently "fake / flop" to get calls when they are shooting.

Reggie Miller and John Starks were among the best floppers in their day.
