Being that the Knicks won the eastern conference during a lockout season, and the Heat done the same, I'm curious to see if these two teams could be compared. I personally believe that the 1999 Knicks were the last best team to win the east.

I wouldn't put that Knicks team in front of the Boston team that won a championship.....and maybe not the Pistons.
I don't think they were better than the 2012 Heat.

In fairness, that Knicks team did lose Ewing to injury so hard to say how they would have done in the finals with him vs. the Spurs.

Question should be:
Could the 1999 Spurs beat the 2012 Miami Heat?

Answer would still be NO!

Are you kidding?

The 99 Spurs were lethal. They had a perimeter and inside presence that was something to reckon with.

Why not? sprewell could've gave the Heat trouble.

Lebron is one of the few guys that could guard sprewell well enough to give him some trouble. (IMO).

Many of the other Knicks on that squad were nowhere near thier peaks (Ewing, LJ, Camby).
I don't see houston winning the Wade matchup either.

The other big knock against them is that they'd been thrown together and had not had time to fully gel as evidenced by their 8th seeding. They dodged a number of close calls to make the finals too.

I have to give the Heat the benefit of the doubt as the Knicks only won one game in the finals....although Ewing was out.

Yeah, Robinson and Duncan in the paint is nasty.

Lol.....the Heat have overcome teams with far more dangerous players than Sprewell. Hell, they just came off a series win against a team featuring one of the best scorers in recent memory in Durant. What is Sprewell going to do that they haven't already encountered the past 2 seasons??

James-Bosh vs. Duncan-Robinson
That's not a slam dunk match up,to me it would be almost even.
Remember the wrap on David Robinson was that he was soft.
