I mean if you go back for the past 2 years they have made some stupid decisions. For starters, any GM with an ounce of basketball sense would have never made that trade for Melo. I don't necessary think he's bad, as much as I think that trying to build a team with him and STAT together is a horrible idea. They don't compliment each other at all, have similar flaws to their game, and are not capable of playing off one another to allow them both to remain effective. Not only that, but signing Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby doesn't make them contenders. Camby has played subpar for a number of years and is not anywhere close to the contributor that he was years ago. I mean what is the direction of this team? Besides Melo and STAT, who do they have on this roster that is considered good enough to contribute on a playoff team?
1. They have made at least 10 years worth of very bad moves including Isaih, alan houston, eddy curry and much much more. Hard to say they are being exposed. The Dolans are so reviled in the NY media that they've quick speaking to them a couple years ago.

2. The Melo trade wasn't bad UNTIL the Dolans interfered at the end and gave away a ton more for him. I can't fault their GM on that one.

3. The Knicks past bad moves cornered them. So they went out, overpaid for STAT, Melo etc. and at least now have a mediocre NBA team instead of one of the worst in the league. The Knicks just took whom they could get to get back to at least not being a laughing stock. Perhpas in 5-6 years they will be able to make a next step....but I doubt it with that ownership.

I think the Knicks will have to blow it up and start from scratch in 5 years. The only promising young player they have is Shumpert. And do they even have any draft picks in the next 5-6 anyway ?

Aww...poor James Dolan -

Shumpert? As soon as he is healthy, Knicks going to trade him away for another experience players like Kidd and Camby. Maybe Ben Wallace so he and Camby can backup each other.

I do not believe that, Dolan just does not want to over pay him, can't say I blame him, Jeremy is not worth the contract that Houston offered

Not sure what Knicks' $18 million PG in Felton thinks but Lin appears to have been Kidd's motivation to being their $9 million PG...

Kidd is a believer in Jeremy Lin and will mentor him if the Knicks, as expected, match the Rockets' four-year, $28.8-million offer. "I think he has all the tools to be a consistent point guard in this league," Kidd said. "I think a lot of people are deceived by his speed and strength. He's a guy who can definitely put points on the board and also find the open guy. My job is to help him just to understand the time and situation, when to go score and when to get your teammates going.

Now, sour grapes.

Knicks made a mistake, but that's ok, Lin will be able to play more freely w/o ball stoppers Melo and Amare....Lin and Howard would be a great pick'n'roll combo! Howard needs to play in Houston in getting his global brand established...Superman!! Yao's management firm will be looking to get Howard for some off-court deals..

btw, stay classy new yorkers...

Letting Lin walk was right but they are not a very old team. If Thomas had a long contract i'd agree but he doesn't so it will fall off soon. Also when playoff time comes expect the Knicks to probably dump him because teams always like acquiring expiring contracts. He is still a good role player so for now he's a good backup.
