Of course I do, but do you think having Pippen equates to having Shaq in the prime of his career? I love Scottie, but it's not even close to an equal situation.

Not sure about your point regarding sweeps; the only team the Lakers swept in the finals the past 10 years were the 2002 Nets, who probably rank among the worst finals contenders in recent memory. That team would have been first round mince-meat in the 80's and 90's. While Jordan never swept a finals, it's important to note that he never lost one either.

Not to mention the early 2000s EC was hilariously bad. The WCF were the real finals those years.

The 76ers? The Nets? lol. You don't think the 90s bulls would/could have swept those teams Continental?

To expand on that point, in 2001 the East was represented in the finals by a 6 foot guard shooting 40% and surrounded by 35 year old Dikembo Mutumbo, George Lynch, Eric Snow, and Tyrone Hill. That tells you all you need to know about the early 2000's Eastern conference.

This definitely makes the Lakers better.

The only 2 teams I am concerned about are the Thunder and Heat.

I feel that this will make the Lakes at least the third best team in the NBA.

The 76ers were so badly out-matched that Kobe didn't even play in one of the finals games.

Shaq destroyed the 76ers and could have won that finals with 4 other average starters.
That's what happens when you have a guy averaging something like 35-15 (or better) on 60% shooting.
It was a slaughter.

Perhaps. Top 2 are Miami and OKC...after that you can argue Bulls, Lakers, Spurs.

No.. The Lakers are the BEST team in the league. Kobe IS getting his 6th ring and it will be in 6 games with The Heat. However to the guy who said "Poor Deron playing by himself in Brooklyn." should relook at the nets. The Nets will be just fine. They are going to be the 6th best team in The east. D. Will, Joe Johnson, Wallace, Hump, Lopez, MarShon, CJ Watson, Taylor, Bogens, ect. They can only improve.

The Lakers could've beat OKC this year, and now they've added Nash, Jamison, and swapped Bynum out for Howard. I think Hill has room to make improvement too.
