I have to be honest I can't get too excited for the NBA before Halloween because now the NFL season is just about to hit the 2nd half of the season which leads to the playoffs. The NBA has 82 games which means that even if a team starts 1-8 or 8-1 it doesn't mean anything. When the season started last season on Christmas I was able to get into it more because the NFL regular season was about to end and you were able to focus more since it was less games. I really think 82 games is too much and should be like last year which was a total of 66.

Anyone agree?

I am watching the Heat and Celtics right now. I love watching NBA basketball, and I missed it when it started late last year.

I think last year spoiled me and enjoyed the season starting on Christmas Day.

I liked the shortness of the season. It felt like more of a sprint - and because the schedule was packed, players needed to be rested, so deeper benches were required.

However, I like that it played during the week - keeps me busy between NFL weekends.

Most of the Thursday night games are awful though. I can't think of 1 Thursday night game that was worth watching this season. The Thursday night game tomorrow is Kansas City vs. San Diego....Kansas City would have higher viewship on a Kansas basketball practice then that game.

Thursdays are always light NBA days - so there's not much to miss.

The way the times line up, the games end at different times. Game 1 of NBA doubleheader ends around 9:30CT, end of NFL game on NFL Net around 10:30CT, then the end of TNT NBA game 2 (around 12:00CT) with Inside the NBA afterwards if you can stay awake.
