Out of the NBA schedule that day the only games that made any sense at all(in order from most attractive to least attractive): 1. Thunder at Heat - NBA Finals rematch. Nothing more need to be said. 2. Lakers at Knicks - Lakers being one of the most under-achieving teams this year. On paper, they have a championship team with many high caliber players. They are the most popular team in the NBA (either because people love them or they hate them). The story all season long is whether they can get it together and become the contender many thought they'd be. The Knicks are a potential threat to the Heat have been doing better than predicted. Carmelo Anthony looks like a legit MVP candidate. 3. Nuggets at Clippers - This game based on the Clippers alone. Clippers have the best record in the NBA and had the longest winning streak at the time (14). They look like contenders in the West. They are high-flying and very fun to watch.
These two games made little to no sense at all. Boston at Brooklyn - Boston is playing .500 basketball. Unlike LA, they don't match LA's star power. Boston is last weeks news. As for Brooklyn... nothing needs to be said. Who are these guys? Why are they playing on Christmas day? They don't bring anything to the table other than the fact that they just moved to Brooklyn. Rockets at Bulls - Makes zero sense. Middle of the pack teams, at best. Not contenders to anything. Nobody on either team worth watching an entire game for. Its blatantly obvious that the NBA only included these two teams because they are in large markets Houston and Chicago.
