Act of sportsmanship gives Texas high schooler shot at glory - CBS News

Get out some tissues when you watch the video.... you might need them.

.....But here's where the fairytale fell apart. Although his teammates did everything they could to get Mitchell a basket, each time they passed him the ball, he either missed the shot, or, like on their last possession, booted it out of bounds, turning the ball over to the other team with just seconds left.

"He wasn't going to be able to score, but I was hoping that he was happy that he was just put in the game," Morales says. He couldn't have imagined what happened next.

What happened occurred on the inbound.....

Ok, it was a classy move by the opposing player, but I'm not getting why so many find this so incredibly moving. The game was well out of reach. If it had been a two point game, does anyone think he still would've done it? The coach, however, WAS willing to lose the game.

Anyway, it's good that kid got a scholarship.

if it was a close game, of course he wouldn't have done it. but in the moment, the kid who was inbounding the ball had the opportunity to create a magical moment for somone with a disability, and he took it.

I can't imagine how proud his parents must be of him for doing what he did.
