This was a few days ago with the Laker game. He estimated it was 70-30 Lakers fans at the Pacers home arena. He says hes dissapointed with the lack of support, considering the fact that they get out into the community, don't commit crimes, and are a 2 seed in the west.

Does he have a point? If your team is engaged, has good character guys, and one of the top teams, should the community support them?

The Pacers are 21st in attendance.

Hill is a former spur, one of spurs fans favorites, he is used to the love SA and south Texas has for the spurs.

Not every team has fans as loyal as SA

Listening to the Lakers/Pacers game on the radio you could have sworn that it was at Staples and not Farm Bank Arena (or whatever it's called)

It's pretty crazy how much of a draw the Lakers (specifically Kobe) has. I tend to forget that living in L.A.

The Pacers organization has been taking subtle, and not so subtle, shots at the fan base in Indianapolis all year. This is nothing new.

Bankers Life Fieldhouse, formerly known as Conseco Fieldhouse. Farm has never been in the name.

Given that he is from Indiana, I think he has a right to call them out. If this was some dude from Yugoslavia who just joined the team last year and doesn't understand the area, I think it would be odd. With that said, my boy from college lives in the town now and he talks about the same thing that Hill is talking about here. They have a very talented team, it's really no excuse for them not to have more support. It's not like they have a ton of other sports teams.

I appreciate Hill's message, but with teams that have bandwagon fans like Lakers, Heat, Cowboys, Yankees, etc...there's always a bunch of folks who root for teams like that. People born and raised in New York City who have never been west of Ohio but they're diehard Lakers fans. LOL.

As a guy that was born and raised to root for home team sports PERIOD, I'll never understand it.

Maybe they drink too much of the Hoosier Koolaid to spend their money on the Pacers.

Why do some people seem to think that others have an obligation to support sports teams? It is entertainment. People can spend their entertainment time and dollars on whatever they they choose...there is a lot of competition for that time and money. They shouldn't be judged for what forms of entertainment they do and do not indulge themselves in as long as others are not harmed.
