Vinny Del Negro out; Chris Paul expected to have say in Clippers' next coach

Del Negro’s problems with the front office were not helped by less-than-enthusiastic support from players, particularly point guard Chris Paul. While the Clippers were a success in the regular season, a source told Sporting News that players wanted a stronger voice in the coach’s chair, and that Del Negro’s bland offensive system should be replaced by something more innovative and up-tempo.

... not unexpected ...

Franchise record in wins, and it's not surprising that he is out. Something is wrong here.

As a Warrior fan, I'm happy about the move, but as a basketball fan I can only shake my head.-

He isn't the greatest coach, but I think he did the best anyone could do with that team. The team is severely overrated. They have talent, but it doesn't mesh well. As good as Chris Paul is, his physical limitation (size, lack of athleticism) get exposed in the playoffs especially when there isn't a dominant scorer with him. Blake Griffin still is a work in progress and honestly outside of those two, you have a lot of middle of the road NBA players. Not sure what they expected.

ESPN has a way of making players and teams seem better than they are. Clippers are Lob City -- high flying dunks -- Paul and Crawford dribbling through multiple players. That stuff doesn't win championships. And when a team plays good defense and shuts down the high flyers and dribblers - what's left? What's the foundation?
