I actually thought he would be fired last year for fumbling away that series to the Clippers. Losing a 21 pt lead in the second half of Game 2 and then lost Game 7 at home. I'm sure he will end up where all fired coaches go which is...........ESPN as a analyst

I doubt it. The Grizzlies have done much more than anyone expected, and they became a playoff team not long after he was hired...which was also the time the team had one foot out the door of Memphis.

As a coach he didn't slow the game down for his team when they were ahead by 21 in the second half of Game 2.

Geez, what level of coaching do you need to do to keep a job? Wow. If you are successful (other than winning the title), you are fired and if you are horrible, you are fired. Perhaps it is best to stay around .500; nah, that will get you fired, too. I know, win Coach of the Year!

Oops...

so my question TVSG, who would YOU hire as a coach, because by your own admission, greg popovich ISNT A GREAT COACH, and if pop isnt a great coach then what hope is there in this league of finding even a good coach.

hollins is a very good coach, top 5 in the league, he didnt get fired, he wanted more money then the ownership of the griz are willing (or able maybe?) to shell out. same thing for the current COTY george karl. he wanted money, the nuggets said sorry we cant pay you that.

VDN got fired from the clippers because no mater how many times he denies it, CP3 didnt like him. the list goes on and on

Well why did Collins ask for more money when the team was swept by the Spurs? And the same goes for Karl, his team was eliminated in round 1 and he asked for more money?

the griz went farther this year then they have EVER gone in the HISTORY of the franchise! they also did it with a MAJOR change in the middle of the season to the roster! if any coach was worth more money is was hollins. only 2 teams can make it to the finals, they happened to get out PLAYED by a better team, on a mission!

george karl was the COACH OF THE YEAR! he took a team of half ass Dleaguers and a couple of past their primes, an injured starting point guard, not only to the playoffs, but to the 3 seed.

so im going to continue to ask, what your definition of a good/great coach is since you DODGE THE QUESTION with your stupid forehead slap and ridiculous constant changing of opinion and topic.

Karl is a good coach and he showed that for years but you don't think it's silly to ask for more money after the team lost in the first round as a 3 seed?
