This is shaq we're talking about. I like him overall. But be prepared to hear him make a couple of stupid statements a year. Houston being a little town is as stupid as it comes.

I'm pretty sure Houston is the fourth largest. Philly did have the metro edge, but I don't know what the numbers are now.

Philadelphia hasn't been the 4th largest US city since the 1980s:

Shaq was putting up 29 and 13 a night at age 21 with Brian Hill as his coach. Dwight's career best ppg was 22.9 in 10-11 ... In his prime, teams acted like they shut Shaq down if they held him to less than 25 in a game.

Rockets are increasing Asik's value by telling teams that they're not trading him...desperate teams that need a quality center like Asik will then pay at least equal value or more...Darryl Morey is a genius. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets get a sharpshooter like Ryan Anderson or wait to see if the Wolves or Blazers get off to a bad start where KLove or LMA want out...i also wouldn't rule out Dirk Nowitzki either...Cuban might go ahead and give Dirk a chance to get another ring and made a trade with the Rockets for Asik and a young PF like Terence Jones...if the Rockets had publically stated about trading him, other teams will lowball the Rockets thinking it will be a dump, but no way the Rockets will just 'dump' Asik...they're gonna get at least equal value or more for him.

Both cities are among the top 5 largest cities. Both of them are smaller than Los Angeles so LA wins either way.

That's what I figured would happen - especially since Josh Smith became unavailable. Hey - he's under contract. Management holds the cards. Morey will not budge unless it benefits the team.

Exactly, plus when you are under contract the only time you are traded is when another team wants you.

What the hell did he think the rockets was going to shop him around to make him feel better? lol And if they did trade him it would be to the bobcats

Asik and Howard don't mix well. I really don't think Howard is a massive improvement. Asik is a top 10...maybe top 5 center.
