Freshman at KU, will play 1 year and then go pro. Word is he is already considered a lock for the #1 draft slot.
He's got to be praying the Lakers suck this year and get lucky with a ping pong ball instead of having to spend 4 years with somebody like the bobcats.
all ive really heard is hes lebron and durant mixed or something crazy
Yeah, I've heard some incredible hype about the kid.
The big problem with the 1 and dones is that they haven't reached their potential by the time their rookie contract ends so you are spending time developing them and then they can walk away. However, the era of the 22+ year old rookie with enormous talent is long gone and can only happen now if someone is a late bloomer or has other reasons to delay turning pro. (Robinson and Duncan for example).
Will reserve judgment until I've seen him against collegiate competition. Obviously he's a man against boys at the high school level....
I'd suspect a lot of the buzz and talk of him being #1 in the NBA draft before playing a game in highschool is driven by him having possibly played against college and pro players at some time or another?
That's when Lebrons reputation really exploded.
There are all kinds of gyms etc. where a guy like him can rub elbows with better competition during summer months.
