The other plus of playing those 2 is that they tend to soak up fouls as well as draw them. Harden and others can feast offensively if the bigs help get them in the penalty.

Howard and Asik combine for 40 rebounds their first game! (Howard=26, Asik=14) Wow.

Looking at how pathetic the west is for bigs....I could see those two average 30 rebs a night combined.

30 imo is a lot, 25 id say.

as for their game vs the bobcats, the bobcats dont exactly have guys challenging for the rebounding title themselves.

Actually they probably could combine for 30rpg. Like if one is injured half the season, then the other the next half... LOOKS like 30, but not really 30, just 15 each per game.

That's also considering Asik can get 15 a night regularly.

Just for reference - 27 of those rebounds were in the first half. (17-Howard, 10-Asik)

feel bad for asik. legit center in the nba, who just got unlucky to have the best wind up on his team. he should and will get traded.

Yeah, I'm probably carried away...but I can see Dwight go back up to 14 or so and Asik around 12 so let me say 25+. They did finish last season #1 and #2 in total rebounds and #1 / #3 in rpg and Howard wasn't even healthy.

I can see a case made that the 2 of them wear down the other team in the paint and might get more rebs, but then there is the minutes argument.

Regardless, I still say play big and let the OTHER guy worry about matching you.

Can't think specifics, but I'll throw out a guess as Rodman and the Admiral?
