I honestly don't see it. The day Kobe is unable to be a 20ppg player is the day I feel he walks away. He's not going to be one of those greats that hangs on 3 years too late.

I agree, Lebron will be known as better then Kobe. But he will never have the skill of MJ, (as you said) Larry Bird, or even Magic Johnson.

Skill of MJ, No, I agree with you. But Larry and Magic. Lebron basically is Magic except he does not play PG and is a bit more athletic. And Bird is great, one of the greatest but I think Lebron has more Skill than him. I also think Kobe has more Skill than Lebron and only falls short of Jordan.

Um....he will just shoot more and blame the rest of his team?

History supports my suspicion.

I think Kobe wants a 6th ring and possibly 7th so he can be in the GOAT conversation.

Too bad Phil Jackson is out somewhere fishing or zen-ing.

PJ cant save the lakers the way they are built.
and if kobe was really concerned about winning another ring or 2 he would do one of 2 things, he would have gone ring chasing as a free agent, or he would have taken a LOT less money so his team could afford to sign some much better talent. they will be lucky to stay .500 with the team they have now.

Kobe just conceded to playing 2 meaningless years on a non-playoff team for a boatload of money.

I almost wonder if he went sniffing around to see whom would pick him up for a ring chance and either didn't get a lot of takers or just decided that he'd rather have the extra 30-40mil.

I'm sure this season will suck. But you know what happens when Phil Jackson comes back, the woodwork opens up.

Ron Artest rips up his MTA card, Derek Fisher makes his 3rd stint. LA becomes the destination for every free agent out there. Robert Horry books his regular flight to D.C...

i think you over rate PJs draw.

the lakers are going to resign pau to about 10mil. that will put them at 45mil and not enough money to sign any real star. the lakers will miss out on the likes of melo (and imo they will be better off for it) and lebrons not leaving the heat.

I think at this point, Lebron is either on a title team or he's jumping ship for what he feels would have a better chance for a title. Not saying that's LA per se. But I see him leaving the Heat in the near future, when wade and bosh are no longer up to par, if Miami doesn't get replacements that is.
