I never understood Lebron VS Kobe. They're not even the same position. If we compare Jordan/Kobe or Kobe/Wade or Kobe/Harden, that's definitely reasonable. But how the hell are you going to compare a 6'9, 250LB, point-forwardish player, with a 6'6, 205LB shooter?
I mean right now, sure. Have you people forgotten what Kobe was doing when he was Lebron's age?
I've had to read thread after thread after thread from Kobe fans over the years speculating about him becoming the all-time leading scorer or predicting that he'd be considered as great as Jordan once he won 2-3 more titles....or that last years team would be in the finals.....
So, now along the same vein you have people extrapolating how many more rings, MVP's etc. Lebron will win which is the same type of garbage.
Kobe's the 2nd best SG to play the game and is a top 10 all-time player. I really don't think there is anything that needs to be defended.
I think many true NBA fans who know their history will argue that there are other factors in play (when ranking top players of all time). Such as intangibles.
I actually believe that LeBron is one of those guys that stays healthy most of his career.
He hasn't missed a lot of games. Although He hasn't played a whole season either...
LeBron is more than a "power-forwardish player", and Kobe is more than a "shooter".
Also just because they are the same position doesn't mean they do the same things for their teams. i.e. Kobe vs. Wade.
I agree with you that LeBron and Kobe are more than simply what I stated. But if we bring out everything that the two do, it makes it even harder to compare them because there are very few similarities between the two (that I can think of right off the bat).
