Haha. Why not? He grew the game loads...

Or is the basketball hall of fame supposed to be for people who were good at, you know, basketball....?

It's not the NBA HOF, it's the basketball HOF.

There are all kinds of people in it....men, women, people that developed the sport in other countries and may have never even been to the US nor played at high levels.

The NFL HOF has coachs, owners etc. in it.

Interesting that of all the links to what is an AP article you had to choose the Seattle Times - I guess we needed some vitriol in the comments to balance out the glowing in the article to provide proper focus on this guys career

He absolutely belong in the hall - I'm in the camp that he hung on a decade too long and not all of his moves were great for long term health, but hard to not see the growth of the game - both domestically and globally - the increase in league revenues, etc

The guy has a very large thumbprint over basketball
