Handchecking would not have prevented any of the baskets in this video. Steph isn't really killing guys with blazing speed. Sure, he's quick, but I can think of several guys who are more explosive than he is. He kills guys with the slightest bit of separation. If you choose to go under the screen, he's scoring, and it's as simple as that. How is handchecking going to stop that?
Look. Let's call it what it is. Steph is a nice guy. Nobody wants to bloody him up . nobody wants to touch him. Nobody wants to talk ish to him. Nobody makes him pay for embarrassing them. Lebron gets beat up and wrapped up and tackled and so on and so on in an attempt to rattle him. Steph gets free pass to embarrass ya whole squad. Where I come from that won't happen. You come to any court in NY and start embarrassing folks and a fight gonna break out. I'm not condoning violence, but there is no excuse for teams playing soft against the Warriors. The Lakers last night looked like they wanted to go hang out at the club after the game with these guys. You can't have that mindset. Somebody should have been ejected last night. Somebody should have gotten in his face. You can't have dude running around jacking up shots whenever he wants and laughing and smiling on the bench with his feet up in the fourth quarter. Where is Kevin Garnett when you need him.
The Rockets got physical with them in the playoffs and it didn't work. So you can't guard a guy you hurt him and then what...Green or Bogut gives your best shooter a concussion and you still have to face a deep team minus your best player too.
Steve Nash, Larry Bird, Mark Price, Reggie Miller, Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant.
Price, being the least athletic, stands out for me.
