Soft rebuild just became a semi nice rebuild...for maybe a year or two.

Wade
Butler
Rondo
Mirotic
Lopez
Gibson

Valentine could be ready to play too...

Depends how healthy they are.

They could be a 2nd round exit pretty easily in the east....but it's about the same.

So much for the "soft rebuild".

It's now a "soft meh"

Depends on health, but a first round exit means they make the playoffs...something they didn't do last year. On paper I could see them being as good or better than Charlotte, Detroit, Atlanta or even Toronto. I'd say a floor of ~37 wins and a ceiling of ~48 wins.

I am not that thrilled with the Bulls signing Wade. However, if the team can stay healthy, it should be an entertaining team to watch.

I saw that to make cap room for Wade, the Bulls are supposed to have traded Dunleavy to the Cavs for ??? and Calderon to the Lakers. I have not heard what, if anything the Bulls received in return for these two guys.

I was initially confused about the reason the Bulls are doing this. However, it may make some sense.

This roster gives the Bulls a reasonably competitive team for a year or two. If things go reasonable well, Rondo and Wade may help recruit other key free agents next year. Also, having two veterans give the younger players like Portis, Valentine and Jerian Grant some time to develop. Personally, I have high hopes for all three players.

That's a good way to look at it. Wade could pull another guy in and with Wade there is always a shot at Lebron.

I also think the East is more competitive top to bottom so finishing 4-11 may be little separation amongst those teams

I'd pull for a "soft meh" over a "soft rebuild" any day. If you aren't tanking you better be at least contending for a top four spot in your conference and some kind of chance at a title.
