Kobe is closing in on passing Jordan on the points list....

218 points away which means about 8 games at his 27ppg current pace.

Dec. 7 is NO
Dec. 9 is Sacramento

they are the 7th and 8th games from now.

After that, a 3 game road trip.

Wouldn't shock me if they green-lit him to make sure he does it in front of the home crowd so just an fyi that if the Sacramento game rolls around and he's 45points shy....I'd expect to see him go for at least that.

Anyway, it could be a fun, historical game to watch if you can swing the tix.

Remember when he put up 81 on Toronto a couple years ago?? Obviously, both franchises have done a complete 180 since that game and I highly doubt he'll ever get there again, but there's no saying Kobe couldn't put up 50+ points in that game or one of the others to make sure he gets it in LA. Having a 45 or 50+ point game obviously wouldn't hurt him in that regard. Scott & management knows this season is toast anyways, so they'll give Kobe the green light from wherever he is on the court, no restrictions.

He's had no restrictions all year, that green light is permanent....and for all the reasons you mentioned, it's meaningless so put on a show.

That's what it's all about anyway and when your team is not really competitive at least you are giving the fans something to cheer during the rebuild.

Sometime in the next 2-5 games, Kobe will be the first player in history to log 30,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 6,000 assists. Only other active player on that path is Lebron.
