Nash or Nowitzi didn't play defense during the time which is why they always blew big leads. I remember a game vs the Lakers at the forum when the Mavs lead all night by 20 or more and fell apart in the 4th qtr because of no defense.
At the forum huh?
When was that? Somehow I get the idea you made that up. Considering dirk played only 3 games in the forum as it closed in 1999. In those 3 games the mavs never had a huge lead, not once.

I remember the game he's talking about, but it definitely wasn't at the forum. I believe it took place during the 02-03 regular season.
I remember Don Nelson being absolutely livid on the bench and the camera repeatedly going back to Lisa Leslie in the stands cheering as the Lakers made their run.

The fall of 2002 to be exact because I watched the game on ESPN and was surprised Dallas was leading by so many points over the 3 time defending champion lakers.
The game was televised on ESPN on December 6, 2002 at the Staples Center. Dallas led 64-36 at the half and 88-61 after the 3rd qtr. Then allowed the Lakers to score 44 pts in the 4th qtr and lost the game by 2, 105-103.

Just saw it was at the Staples Center, lol but like I said I remember the Mavs blowing a 64-36 lead at the half and losing by 2 points which was so unacceptable.
I know that if Derrick Rose should ever do what Steve Nash did, he'd be virtually castrated by the media, not that he already hasn't received more heat for doing and trying more than Nash (or if John Wall, or Kyle Lowry, or James Harden etc tried this). With that being said though, I'm more of a traditional, purist type person, as far as who I like seeing admitted to the hall of fame. Even with his two atrocious MVP selections, I don't really believe Nash did enough to ever warrant him being considered a HOFr, or least this 100% lock. He can thank his skin color, Kobe and the Malice in the Palace for making him relevant and a HOF.

No, he can thank his two MVPs, eight NBA All-Star appearances, and being among the all-time leaders in assists, three-point shooting and free-throw percentage. But at least he won't have to worry about bumping into Derrick Rose in the HOF. (Why do I have a feeling that you also think Larry Bird was overrated?)
If he played better defense he would've been one of the top 5 PGs ever. As it is, he's probably still in the top 20, maybe even top 15. [I wouldn't rate him higher than 12 or 13.] Overall, he's a great, classy guy who I'll miss.
