111-95.

After watching the post-game, NBATVs comments, it appears that the Celtics are onto something - beat the Hawks, Thunder and now Rockets. Will be interesting to see if they can get momentum.

Whoa - the radio host was wondering what Les Alexander was thinking amidst the losing... now we know.

I can't argue with it. He couldn't motivate the players anymore.

3 year extension last year for McHale...

Harden needs to take a long look in the mirror and leave Khloe to her husband. Because right now, he needs to understand that the organization choose McHale to walk the plank instead of him.

Details from one of the beat writers...

Jonathan Feigen

------------------------

Interesting from one of the tweets regarding players only meeting yesterday....

Lawson especially wanted Rockets to meet. "Coaches’ say, 'run this pick-and-roll coverage.' We were calling something totally different."

its past due IMO. he was never a good coach and always seemed like a fill in until their Dleague coach was ready to take over.

as for harden, last year he was OK on defense, this year he seems to have just given up on defense. hes shooting about the same % as last year around this time of the year.

Last year, Harden was running on the fumes from Coach K's US basketball. This year, he is running on the fumes of Khloe K and Adidas money.

I agree, McHale was not great. I still remember the Lillard play where Harden, Parsons, and Beverly were getting their assignments squared away while Lillard took off and ended their season.

Not many coaches can overcome the "players league" that the NBA has become....many stars with all the media, commercial endorsements, and hype from the league itself feel they're above coaching staff who are no better than window dressing. Lebron included.
I do agree McHale was mediocre at best, but the owner is fooling himself if he thinks there's anyone out there who will bring Harden & Howard anywhere near a championship.

When the team is winning players get the credit, and when the team is losing the Coach gets the blame... That's just the way it is. I can't say whether McHale was a good or bad coach, but I know they won nearly 60 games last year and made it to the Conference Finals. However, Harden and Howard should be ashamed of themselves. WTF happened to Dwight Howard?! And Harden plays absolutely no defense. When you're "leaders" don't give 100% neither will your supporting cast.

Usually if a coach gets the credit, it will be for strategy - which was not McHale's strong point. He was probably more likeable and kept people together - coaches won't get credit for that. But what happens is that if you have immature players, after a while, they can't handle the lack of structure and begin tuning him out. This team is immature. Beating the Thunder and Clippers indicate talent. Losing to the Nets and Celtics indicate immaturity.

Good article on Bickerstaff.

“It isn’t just getting fired in this business, but the ridicule that comes with it, the fans, the kids at school,” J.B. Bickerstaff said late Wednesday night on his drive out of the Toyota Center, out of a 108-103 overtime victory over Portland. “My dad always took over teams, except for Washington, that were rebuilding, and you hear the taunting, the jokes, negative, awful things about the person you love. That hardens you at a young age.
