The Lakers gain a superstar in Russell Westbrook and possibly can pair him with both Kobe and Love if they sign Love in offseason. Do you think Sam Presti seriously considers this? I think he does knowing that Westbrook likely walks in Free Agency, and this would be a really strong offer.
Westbrook is a superstar player, its hard to give him away for the 2nd selection and one other player. Lakers would have to give up more to get RW imo.

If i was the lakers i would seriously look into that and really i would give a LOT to get RW, you would have to give up the pick and Randle as well as maybe another pick for the following season (which is probably going to be a top 15 pick) but are the Lakers smart enough to pursue this? They're not very smart these days, so for them to do something smart, that would have to be them breaking out of recent character.

Once Duncan and Pop are gone, no one knows what will happen. Not to mention SA is a small market, LA will always be a more attractive option for multiple reasons.
1. Small market is a dead concept in the internet age. Newspaper men aren't running for the payphones to call in their stories anymore.

2. You just compared the Spurs last 15 years to decades of the Lakers? Really? I'll be nice and not comment further.

3. The Lakers current management has made a flurry of bad decisions in recent years and they have traded away several future picks. Free agents notice things like that and that fact that they'd be joining a Laker team comprised of a broken down Kobe and a bunch of bench-quality players.

4. I've been hearing your argument for the last couple years. Instead of it coming true...Gasol bailed and NOBODY wanted to go there. Have you missed that phenomenon? What happened last summer if LA is such a desirable destination?

5. Widely reported that none of the top free agents want to play with Kobe.

Awesome.

We have one clueless laker fan saying Duncans been washed up for at least 6 years and another saying that once he retires the Spurs will collapse.

Your owner is no longer the smart Buss, it's the short Buss.

You know it. I know it. Everybody in the league knows it.

The Lakers are heading down the path the Knicks took and down deep you know they are in real trouble hence all the defensiveness and the same repeat proclamations of the lakers suddenly landing blue chip free agents on their awful team. It's a sad sad display of denial.

Lakers are not even half way through their rebuild and their fans have been predicting quick bounce-backs via free agency every year since Dwight left town.

(This coming from a guy that has said the Lakers have the #1 franchise in the history of the NBA, so consider this a Laker intervention. lol.)

Comparing the Bricks to the Lakers........ didn't think it was possible for you to get dumber but you've proven me wrong.

1. No, no its not. LA and NY will always be far more desirable places to live and play than OKC or SA, only a fool would argue that fact.

2. Ok...

3. You are calling Nick Young, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson "bench quality players"? LMAO!!!!!!!!!

4. What happened in LA last summer in regards to the Lakers signing free agents? Ever heard of this thing called the SALARY CAP?!

5. Kobe will be retired in the next year and besides, throw enough money to play in LA at someone and they are likely to take it and put aside differences with Kobe. Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and Dwight Howard to just name a few recent players.

What would have happened to L.A. if the Lakers didn't get lucky by swapping Divac for a high schooler chosen 13th overall? I don't think some of these Laker fans remember those bad Laker teams whose best players consisted of brief stints of Cedric Ceballos, Eddie Jones, and Nick Van Exel. It wasn't always pretty. Maybe L.A. gets lucky again but I think the Knicks reference is apt myself. If they throw bad money around and draft poorly, they'll go right down the same road. I don't think they're going to be that bad, though.

Clueless owners and clueless GMs rarely have success let alone sustained success.

1) says someone who's clearly never lived in Texas.

2).........

3) those guys are bench players, none would start on any other team.

4) last summers Sakarya cap issue came up because of poor management, giving Kobe 25 mil, taking on lin, paying Nash and his bad back, all bad management.

5) pau, traded to la, Howard, traded to la, Nash, traded to la. Of those guys named, who's still there??? Nash is "technically" there, collecting a check after 2.5 years of gifted money, Howard left on the first flight out of town, pau stuck it out until the lakers became lower than terrible.

Oh lakers fans, they always seem to forget that facts.

Might want to look up Jerry West's credentials before you throw "lucky" around like a clueless idiot.

I think that point went well above your head. I wasn't questioning West's credentials; I was simply recounting the fact that without that improbable transaction, I doubt the notion of the subsequent Laker championship run.
