Steve Kerr commented on how much he had to change his shot when he entered the pros because all of the sudden everyone got faster and longer.

That's really the bottom line.

MOST players upon entering the NBA have to make fairly major adjustments to their game and then develop and grow. It's why players typically don't hit their primes until 3-4 years into the league.

Those that can keep improving, work on their short comings and have a good attitude are the ones that stick.

I'm not sure who was comparing him to Steph Curry. Curry was quick and a good ball-handler in college (now an elite ballhandler). Jimmer's not quick and had a much more limited skillset.
After Curry arrived on the National scene in that March Madness where he lit everyone up, Curry went back to school to work on his handles and point guard skills because he knew those were things he needed to sharpen up to make it in the NBA (Maybe his dad, Dell, advised him as well). On that Davidson team that went deep in March Madness, Curry was the 2. That team also lost most of its talent, so going back to Davidson, he knew odds were they werent going to make a run like that again, no matter what he did.

Jimmer's junior and senior year in the Mountain West:

2009-2010: 31 mpg, 22 ppg, taking 14.4 shots a game, .468 2P%, .440 3P%, 3.1 reb, 4.7 ast
2010-2011: 36 mpg, 29 ppg, taking 20.7 shots a game, .491 2P%, .396 3P%, 3.4 reb, 4.4 ast

JJ Redick's junior and senior year in the ACC:

2004-2005: 37 mpg, 22 ppg, taking 15 shots a game, .415 2P%, .403 3P%, 3.3 reb, 2.6 ast
2005-2006: 37 mpg, 27 ppg, taking 18 shots a game, .521 2P%, .421 3P%, 2.0 reb, 2.6 ast

Very similar players, but JJ is able to carve out a nice NBA career because he knows his role.

I still think the Knicks would do better with a randomized process for acquiring players. I swear they'd do better just to put some names on a dartboard and start throwing.

Jimmer is no draw... He'll be playing in Westchester, NY (White Plains). He's from Glens Falls, NY. Not even his mom and dad will make that trip to see him play.

Fun to watch? Really.... What's fun about him? That he'll chuck up some 3s from half court? That sound like Professional Basketball to you?

Fun yes fun, I meant what I said. You dont have to be just another skinny dunker who cant shoot to be fun to watch. He's a scorer not just a long range shooter, but yes his 3s will make the crowd gasp sometimes. He can stop on a dead run and knock down a 27 footer plus he's actually very crafty around the basket like a Steve Nash.
