That's among the many reasons why I have so much more love and respect for Duncan. Even during his prime he never demanded the kind of absurdly high contract Kobe did.

Exactly. He're certainly one of the best, most prodigiously talented one-on-one players ever, but during this stage of his career he should probably be more of a role player in much the same way Ray Allen was for the Heat.
You have to be really careful with salary statements because the rules have changed over time and for the lakers it's only the portion that counts against the cap that matters.

Duncan's pay cuts were done to create needed cap space. I don't think the lakers were in that position the same way.

The Warriors, 2016 world NBA champions, are now 17-0 and gunning for what was thought to be an untouchable record, the Laker's 33 consecutive win streak.

Curry, the 2016 MVP, is having an unreal season.

Look at his season stats so far:

32.6 points per game
2.5 steals
5.2 rebounds
6.1 assists
93.5% FT
44.2% FG
51.4% FG

Un-freaking-believable.

His assist average isn't that high for an elite point guard (his listed position), but he tends to be more of a shooting guard as that is his main role on his team.

No way his ego would allow for that. I think it's a great way to see if he's really more concerned about winning or about being "the man."

Here's the thousand dollar question...

What happens first... Warriors loss or Sixers win?

I vote Sixers win.

That's a tough question. I'm leaning toward Sixers win first.

Hmmm ... not much of a limb there.
Warriors play Kings and Jazz before the Sixers play the Lakers on Dec 1.
My bet is on the Sixers as well.

That would be truly remarkable, especially in terms of starting the season 33-0. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves: They're only about halfway there. Realistically, they'll need to be about 25-0 before breaking the record seems tangible. But, yeah, still, what they've done so far is pretty effin' amazing.

They are at 21 from games last season.

I think both happen this week. Warriors start a 7 game road trip Monday, 6 of which are on the East Coast, they play 2 back-to-backs on that trip, and 3 of the 6 cities they visit are Toronto (Dec 5), Boston (Dec 11), and Milwaukee (Dec 12). I'm betting they lose one of those games, probably the Toronto game. Sixers have games this week against Lakers (Tuesday), @ Knicks (Wednesday), and then vs. Nuggets (Dec 5). I'm guessing they beat either the Lakers or Nuggets.

Actually I'll say both happen on the same day: Dec 5. But since the Sixers game starts at 1, and the Raptors game doesn't begin until 5, the Sixers win will happen first.....only by a couple hours, but still happens first.

I think Sixers win as well.

At some point, Philly needs to start thinking about winning games as an organization. You can only 'tank' for so long. Not to mention, and I know this sounds weird, but I dont even like their 'method' of tanking!
