Moving him out of the top 10 would be even sillier than not putting Kobe there too.

I could see arguments for putting him as high as maybe #3 or #4.
Exactly.
Duncan is the only player in nba history with 15 all defense, and if memory stands, he was the only player to be first team all nba and first team defense in his first 8-9-10 seasons.

He's the only player ever to win titles in 3 decades, and not as a 6-8th man but a starter.

He's #2 in defensive win shares behind only Russell (only 2 players over 100) and the only other active player in the top 20 is KG.

He is also 6th in total winshares for his career, behind Kareem, wilt, Malone, MJ, and Stockton.

Anyone who thinks Duncan isn't top 10 or better is hating, or just doesn't know what they're talking about.

I don't think Bird is better than Duncan. Duncan has had very high performance over a very long career. The man will be 40 years old in a couple of months and he's still the lynchpin of his team.

Agree. He was a heck of a player. But I wouldn't put him in the top 10.

I was surprised Duncan's assists aren't higher. I don't think the numbers accurately reflect his passing ability. Nobody really talks about his passing, but I've always thought he was a tremendous passer ever since his Wake Forest days.

These kinds of list are good for click bait. But the criteria is always subjective. Personally, if I'm going off of "wow" factor than four players come to mind: Shaq, Jordan, Magic, and LeBron. Those four are the most physically amazing players I have ever seen.

I've always felt post players and wing players should be ranked separately. The have different roles and the head to head numbers comparisons are not effective comparisons.

Just the "wow" factor putting rings, "leadership" and efficiency arguments aside?

Jordan
T-Mac
Kobe
Magic
Durant
Lebron
Curry
Iverson
Shaq
Wilkins
Garnett
Wade
Westbrook

Those are the straight hoopers that immediately come to mind (yes, I left Vince off on purpose). Maybe it's the HD factor, but when I watch Kevin Durant, I'm like "Damn." He takes two steps on a drive to the basket and throws it down with two hands. I can't say I've ever seen someone that tall with that level of explosiveness who can also shoot 40% from behind the arc.

I was thinking about adding Rose but he fizzled out too soon. But man, that guy had some jets.

If going by "wow" factor, I'd also add Carmelo to my list. He used to play with an almost violent power and he had the speed, agility and outside shooting to go with it. And of course, Julius Erving based on what I've seen.

Slo is a mavs fan who is pure hater, nothing he says about any Spurs player is admissible in any way.

Duncan was also on the all nba team last season, the 2nd oldest player in nba history behind Kareem.
