I've heard fans say that "anyone can coach Golden State to an NBA championship" with the talent they have. It’s the same nonsense people used to spit about Zen Master's Bulls with MJ and Pippen and again when he three-peated with Diesel and Mamba.
Golden State could have packed it in after Game 4. Kerr could have stuck to the game plan and let his starters throw another game away.
Instead he took control of the situation as great coaches do, and if winning a championship didn't impress you in 2015, the 2016 Warriors saga might be the affirmation of Kerr as a superstar coach.
Durant and Westbrook in danger of having a career defining choke on their resume...not to mention a blow out in the '12 Finals. Gotta wonder how much a loss could get in their head - we can't even win when we have a 99% chance of winning. It's hard to believe, but losing game 7 might bring up the question everyone had going into the playoffs...time to rebuild?
Nobody's denying that. I'm just saying the dude suffered two very visible injuries that kept him off the court for a while. How do you account for that?
I mean, Jordan gets a pass for blowing it against the Magic in 1995. Everyone acknowledges he was rusty even though he dropped 55 on the Knicks in the Garden. If we give Jordan a pass for being "rusty," then why not give Curry a pass for suffering an ankle and MCL sprain?
Hehe - Jordan comes back from a two year layoff and we're comparing it to MVP Curry's knee sprain about 2 months ago? Kerr said Curry looked like his normal MVP self in practice about 3 weeks ago.
The key from what I saw was inside shooting. Klay's threes kept them alive yes, but the game turned when the Warriors finally had their lay-ups/inside shots fall in whereas the Thunder hadn't had that problem all game long.
I think the game tomorrow night defines the KD/Westbrook legacy in OKC. After they beat the Spurs, and went up 3-1 on the Warriors, it was almost a forgone conclusion that KD would stay. If they blow that 3-1 lead, you bring up whether he's staying or going.

Eh, thing is he's not going to find a much better setup than where he is now. Win or lose OKC is still a top three team in the league. I don't see him going to build with a future powerhouse like Boston or Portland, but who knows.

Are you saying GS is like the 1980s Denver Nuggets? Just running around and chucking up shots?
If that is what the 1980's nuggets did... yeah.
