Are you okay with me never saying that he didn't need Kyrie? He had to have Kyrie. Stop acting like the two things are mutually exclusive. All MVPs need teammates. Kyrie was great in this series.
How about Curry NEEDING Iguodala, Lee, Green, Thompson, etc., etc. last year? This is just stupid. Hating a guy for needing teammates to win a team game.
Even with his presence warriors were up 3-1,the only reason cavs won is refs, green suspension and bogut injury and curry wasnt fully healthy!
There were just as many bad calls against the Cavs too. Some horrible foul calls, Iguodala got away with a foul or two tonight, the Kyrie out of bounds play, etc. By the way, Green got suspended because of his own actions. Get over it.
Sometimes the "second option" gets unfairly marginalized in favor of the media superstar. The second option may not win the FMVP trophy, but you definitely can't replace him with just anybody and expect to win. Irving really elevated his game this series, including a truly clutch Game 7 performance. Would the Cavaliers win Game 7 in Oracle if Lebron had the same statistics, but Kyrie was a no-show?
Prime example is Curry and Thompson. Thompson kept Curry in this series for sure. I felt Thompson outplayed everyone on this team in the OKC and Cleveland Finals. Curry is the clear superstar and Thompson has to be cool with playing number 2. Pippen played number 2 for most of his career. He won 6 rings, made a lot of money, and went down as one of the best duos in basketball. He wasn't the alpha, but there's no Jordan without Pippen and vice versa.

He did get suspended but lebron stepped on the man,if he didnt get suspended your sorry team cavs woulda lost
I'm not a Cavs fan. Say that all you want, they still couldn't win at home with Green in game 7. The fact is, Golden State was awful in this series after game 2. They were great the 2nd half of game 4. Outside of that, just pathetic.
LeBron led BOTH teams in scoring, rebounds, assists, and blocks--I think that gets you an FMVP trophy when you win.
He lead in steals also.
And he averaged a triple double in the series.
There was really no other contender for MVP.
