I remember the days when Lebron was expected to win it all with Mo Williams. We've seen the reality-- he needs a star backup in Wade (before age caught up with him) or Irving, and Bosh/Love.
Please! Nobody realkstically thought the Lebron Cavs pre decision would have won a title. That would have been an accomplishment for the ages.
And again, why do you even bring it up? As everyone has told you, every champion has needed a star to back him up. You keep bringing it up as if it makes Lebron a lesser player compared to his peers.
Hakeem put up his numbers and won with no All-Star level players.
So Hakeem is better than Lebron, Jordan, Magic etc.? Or what about those Pistons that took out Shaq and Kobe? They had zero super stars so they must be the greatest ever? See how dumb this all is.
Cleveland is not a destination city. Kobe insisted on going to LA in the draft, refused to go to Charlotte. Then he threatened to leave (to Chicago?) when he couldn't do anything by himself. It turned out they brought in Gasol instead.
Anyway, this whole thing is stupid. Nothing wrong with going to a better job. Plenty of college graduates leave their hometown for a big payday in San Francisco or New York. (And nothing wrong with coming back home after gaining quality experience either.) They don't get the same crap. Idiots just want to hate on Lebron for no good reason. He needs teammates just like everyone else.
That's what I take issue with, and is why I don't want to forget what Irving accomplished this series. Lebron has logged Hall of Fame statistics, but he needs All-Star teammates, or he'll win 3 rings in 13 years-- which contradicts the "more with less" claim.
So you not remember Pippen with Jordan? Dumars and Lambeer with Thomas. Shaq with Kobe. Pau with Kobe. Pierce, with Garnett and Allen. There's no team that's winning a championship with 1 out of 5 stars. Every championship team had at least 2 stars most of the time. The only team I can think of that didn't really have a second star was the 2011 Mavs. Dirk had very good role players, but not really a number two option. All those guys have fallen way off since that championship, except for Barea and Dirk.
People are hating that James needs a second star, but most people have one with a second star, even a second star that was an all-star.

Well, I heard hours and hours of Mike Breen, Tim Legler and others talking over my basketball games, claiming that Lebron would win a championship before teaming up with Bosh and Wade.
We need to stop with the "hating" allegations just because I post an opposing view. Kyrie showed up big and exposed Steph as not much beyond an amazing shooter. This is bigger than a clutch shot from Ray Allen to beat the Spurs. Lebron and Kyrie were a legitimate 1-2 punch this series.

Hakeem is an all-time great and had more skills than Lebron in some categories.
It depends on what you mean by "better--" he wasn't a media darling with commercials and cartoon movies, but he certainly won more with less compared to other all-time greats.

Sure. But please answer about one guy leading both teams in every statistic. You don't see value in that. It was a 1-2 punch, but it was also clear who the 1 was.
