UConn will be OK because the American blows chunks.
Memphis won't be good even in that same conference, but Tubby Smith is a good hire. And an LOL at Georgia Tech for replacing Brian Gregory with Josh Pastner. They actually did Memphis fans a favor as he was likely going to be fired after this season anyways.
Georgetown, eh. I think 4th or 5th in the Big East and a semifinal appearance in the Big East tourney is about what their ceiling is. Not expecting much more out of them.
Gonzaga is interesting. They'll still be a good team, still the favorite in the WCC, but not sure they have enough talent to make a deep run. The 2014/15 team was probably their best since the 98 Monson days that burst onto the scene. I think anything more than a Sweet 16 appearance is gravy.
That college tip off marathon takes place tonight. For about 30 straight hours (from 6 PM this evening to about midnight Tuesday when the last game ends) there will be basketball on ESPN. Some of the games aren't bad: San Diego State/Gonzaga should be very good, Pacific/UWGB at 2 AM for you insomniacs looks decent. Hawaii plays some Florida team during the 4 AM hour before you wake up with Niagara vs. Hartford at 6:45 AM. Division 3 also kicks off this evening with an inter city Worcester, MA matchup between Worcester State & Clark. If my high school team wasn't playing in their fall league playoff this evening, this could've been my evening-morning schedule:
Northeastern @ UConn 7 PM
Drive up to Worcester, MA (about 50 miles)
Watch Clark @ Worcester at 12:01 AM
Drive from Worcester to Hartford, CT (about 80 miles)
Watch Niagara @ Hartford @ 6:45 AM
Good early game with Nova and Purdue last night. The Purdue home crowd was amped up. Tough game and the boilermakers looked good. Lots of funky fouls both ways though, need to let them play more both ways.
Nova squeaked it out good early match up for both teams Hope another run for Nova and Purdue looks like they could really be a good squad.
Excited to see some college hoops my favorite form of bball
Being a Badgers fan, it will be interesting to see how well they perform this season. They beat up Central Arkansas 79-47 on Friday and they play Creighton tonight at 7:30 CT.
Kentucky beat Michigan State by 21 last night, and Duke lost. I'll take it.
That's always a good day!
